Mangos are Low Calories and Nutritious
Not only are mangos so delicious, but they are a great low-calorie fruit that’s packed with loads of nutrients!
“One cup (165 grams) of mango provides nearly 70% of the RDI for vitamin C”
Although mangos are naturally sugary fruits, they’re packed with fiber and nutrients that processed sugars lack. While they may not be keto or diabetic friendly, they still offer more benefits than added-sugar snacks or even sugar-free processed snacks.
So, now that you know a little more about mangos, let’s help you pick them!
How to Choose the Ripe One
If you ever picked a perfect avocado, then you know how to pick a ripe mango. It’s the same rule of thumb. A hard mango is not a ripe mango. You want your mangos to slightly give when gently squeezed. But if you have hard mangos, you can ripen them by placing them in a brown paper bag at room temperature for a day or two. Just like an avocado.
How to Cut a Mango
Alright, you know mangoes are nutritious and you have the perfect mango but how do you cut them?! It’s important to know mangos have a huge seed in the middle. So, you have to cut them accordingly. Here’s a video demonstrating how it’s done.
